Almost all features of CukaiMate are free, with no ads or tracking. A one-time Pro upgrade is available for advanced features like multi-profile support. We plan to implement more features in the future.

CukaiMate currently only supports e-BE assessment. We believe this covers the majority of tax items and reliefs for all other types. As for other business items, they are much more complex and sensitive, so it's probably better for you to hire someone most qualified for the job.

All your data is stored locally on your device and never sent to any server. Only you have access to your tax information. You can also back up and restore your data at any time in the Data Management section.

Internet connection is only needed during the first initial launch of the app, where it will download the latest tax data from our server. After that, you can turn on airplane mode and use the app completely offline without any loss of functionality (except purchases).

As a sidenote, there's only a few fetch requests across the entire app's code and all of them are downloads. See our privacy policy for more information.

Yes! You can back up your data as JSON or export a neatly formatted local web page (HTML) or PDF document summarising your tax information, perfect for your own records and reference.

You can generate an archive of your current user and year's attachments in the Data Management section. Additionally in iOS, you can find all the attachments and exports in iOS's Files app.

We have a backup feature that allow you to backup your data, including or not including attachments. You can restore your data to another device by importing the backup file directly. It's very easy, a child could do it! (probably)

No. CukaiMate is an independent, unofficial app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri). It's a personal finance tool to help you estimate your taxes and store your records. You still need to file your taxes through the official LHDN website.

Well, CukaiMate stores your complete tax information, images and receipts locally and permanently for future reference (definitely more than the required 7 years). You can also think of it as a tax scratch pad where you can explore different scenarios and estimate your taxes before filing to LHDN.

I can't really promise anything since this is a passion project coming from a indie developer. But what I would say that I will try to commit to this project for as long as possible, hopefully with the support from the community whether through monetary tips or feedback.

In addition, I had taken care to future-proof the app so that it is maintainable for myself. I also made sure that all your information is readily exportable so you can easily view your tax records through the zipped archive with your attachments and machine-readable JSON file or exported human-friendly HTML page.

From a technical standpoint, storing images and files on a website usually means that they will be uploaded to a cloud server. This probably won't sit right with people who are more privacy-conscious. An app can store all your data locally on your device without any server involved.
